Spring into Fall

I can't believe we are on the footsteps of September, it does seem as though the Summer flew by with alacrity. Nonetheless, I have to admit that I have been dialing-back my work hours over the last 2 weeks. I wouldn't call it a vacation by any means, but I have made it a point to work less hours. The primary reason for doing it now is that we have an absolutely insane Fall schedule coming up for the dailypixel Network. We have some of our biggest launches yet scheduled to roll into the Network before snow hits the ground, and a bunch of new blogs on the way as well. With a crazy upcoming schedule, I figured this would be an ideal time to recharge the batteries. But now that September is almost here, it's back to work in a big way and I couldn't be more excited about what is on the horizon for us. Exciting times!

On another note, I was horrified recently to read about the recent hot-air balloon crash that took place in B.C. a few days ago. My heart goes out to the husband who lost his wife and daughter in that tragedy. It particularly hit me hard because it was about 5 years ago, living in Vancouver at the time, that my wife bought a special birthday gift for me/us - a romantic, sunset hot-air balloon ride over South Surrey, BC. It was run by Fantasy Balloon Charters, same balloon, same pilot, same location. We enjoyed our ride then, but I must confess that I was caught off-guard by how nervous I was when we walked up to this tiny wicker basket with walls that barely went beyond my waist. Needless to say, I'm in no rush to go on another balloon ride.
